On Tuesday 5 December the pupils of Haversham Village School gathered in the playground to watch their Headteacher, Mrs Mears, lay bricks on their new school extension, to celebrate the progression of works on site. Councillors, governors and members of the project team watched on as Mrs Mears was guided through the brick laying process. The brick laying ceremony was then followed with a some building themed songs sung by the pupils, a Q&A to the project team and refreshments for all.

The Haversham Village School extension involves the construction of a traditional build single storey extension to the existing school building. The new teaching block will consist of four new classrooms, two extra rooms for design and technology and home economics, auxiliary rooms and support rooms – including group rooms, toilets, store rooms, staff room and a plant room.

Aspects of this project also include an extension of the school car park, sports pitches, plus hard and soft landscaping.
