Throughout 2017 Kier Construction Eastern employees have been taking part in events organised by J’s Hospice to raise money for the charity. J’s Hospice charity improves the lives of young adults (aged 16-40) with life limiting and life threatening conditions and their families across Essex. They provide enhanced care including tailored specialist nursing, respite, advice and emotional care as well as end of life care and bereavement support – in the comfort and security of their patient’s homes, helping young adults to live their lives to the fullest, however short this may be.

Back in April Business Development Manager, Mark Tomlinson, and Contacts Manager, Paul Kenworthy joined the Countryside and Beaulieu Park team at Chelmsford City’s Admiral’s Park and cycled 50 miles through the beautiful Essex countryside. This was the third year that Beaulieu – the Countryside and L&Q development on the outskirts of Chelmsford – have sponsored the Pedal for J’s fundraising event.

With a number of Kier Construction Eastern’s projects based in and around Chelmsford, Kier were given the opportunity to sponsor the J’s Hospice Chelmsford Marathon £2,500 which took place on 22 October. volunteers from the Eastern office, Design Manger,Simon Parslow, Assistant Estimater, Jo Concesso and her husband Lionel Concesso – aka Kieran – ran the 5K route, saying: “I think what impressed me most was how friendly, helpful and supportive the staff at J’s were. Absolutely awesome to be among such positive people.”

All money raised from the events will go toward care and support for those in need.
